The intrinsic connection between our emotional and physical health is well known. Our body speaks to us through emotions and sensations as a guide to take appropriate action. When this communication goes unheard or ignored, our body shouts louder to get our attention - it does this by sending physical symptoms of illness. Based in Milton Keynes but with an international client base this mind body therapy will help you return to health and wellness.
Symptoms can range from bouts of low mood, anxiety, panic attacks or digestive problems through to life changing illness such Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ME or Fibromyalgia and a host of other stress-related illnesses too many to list.
By acquiring the skillset to tune into your body you can start to better 'listen' to the emotions and sensations it sends you. With this better understanding you can start to take appropriate action, that keeps you physically and emotionally safe and fulfilled, allowing your body to return to a healthy, symptom free state.
Through this speaking therapy, I will coach you to understand the mechanisms that create illness in the first place, and give you the tools to start to reconnect your Mind and Body, building a bridge to better health and discovering a more ‘authentic’ you.
The tools you may need could include setting defined personal boundaries, responding to unfair treatment appropriately, becoming aware of triggered thought patterns or responses, being aware of how your past is influencing your perceptions of the present and discovering what brings you joy and fulfilment now, as opposed to living a life only for others.
Whilst each person's journey is tailored, the tools you learn in Mind-Body Therapy will help you create a life of health, energy and happiness!
My coaching programme is based on the MindBody Reconnect (MBR), a therapy founded by Clare Caldwell, who for over 20 years has developed this highly successful recovery system, inspired by the teachings of Gabor Maté and others. Being part of the international MBR network of practitioners, allows me to be part of a specialist mind-body health community, whose aim is to continue to learn, share and apply this transformative and powerful information.
If you're wondering if Mind-Body Therapy could help you, or would just like to ask a few questions, please book in for a free discovery call which will allow both of us to determine if this therapy could help you. Dr Gabor Maté - When The Body Says No
Every person is different, however 8-12 sessions is quite average, with some needing less or more.
For the first few weeks, sessions will be held weekly, then we can move to every 2 weeks. This is very dependant on each clients needs.
Sessions last one hour.
Sessions are generally done via Zoom as this allows me to work with an international client base (unless you live near Milton Keynes, UK). I encourage my clients to find a quiet location where they feel comfortable and can talk in privacy.

Reconnecting the Mind and Body can support the body with an endless number of symptoms. Some of these are:
A Doctor should always be consulted about your symptoms before considering any type of therapy.
Mickel Therapy
The founder of The MindBody Reconnect practiced and taught Mickel Therapy for many years, however this Mind-Body Therapy programme has evolved beyond Mickel Therapy and incorporates the broader knowledge of leading experts in the mind-body field such as Dr. Gabor Maté.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Psychotherapy
These therapies can focus on changing the thought patterns of the 'thinking' brain. There may also be in-depth discussion of the past and trauma related events.
Mind-Body Therapy does not try to change your thinking, nor does the therapy require re-living the past, rather it gives you the tools to see your symptoms in the present, as form of communication, which you will learn to discern, understand and respond to appropriately.
Responding appropriately in the present allows your body to let go of the past, as new strategies and learning is applied. It also provides in-depth knowledge of what your 'thinking ' and 'emotional' brain are, and how they need to work together in a balanced way to achieve a life of health and happiness!
